Todays DJIA Dow Index; Dow Jones Industrial Average DJX:DJI; Nasdaq, S&P 500 Stock Market Investing News; Dow Index Trends Today

Todays DJIA, Nasdaq, S&P 500 Stock Market Trending News: The primary indices in
the U.S. gained positive momentum during the initial half of the trading
session. The Dow Jones , as well as the Nasdaq, were supported by positive
economic data and some better than expected earnings data. In addition, global
index trends were skewed positively during the last session. Primary indicators
in Asia and across the eurozone finished their respective sessions in the green.
Global Index Performance: Primary indicators in Asia finished the last session
in the green. The Nikkei in Japan closed higher by 1.04 percent. The Hang Seng
in Hong Kong finished the last session higher by 1.30 percent. The Shanghai
Composite in China finished the last session higher by 1.31 percent. Indicators
posted positive close marks in the eurozone as well. The CAC 40 in France
finished the last session higher by 1.96 percent. The DAX in Germany finished
the last session higher by .97 percent and the FTSE 100 in the U.K. closed out
last session green by .68 percent. The positive global gains and momentum
spilled over to help support index trend-line movement during the U.S. session.
U.S. Stock Market News: Several economic reports made headlines during the last
trading session in the U.S. The better than expected report on jobless claims
gained the attention of many. According to the governments data, the number of
Americans that files for unemployment benefits last week dropped lower to
352,000. This number was as low as any seen in the last several years. It was
noted as a positive sign of economic expansion in the U.S. Housing starts fell
in December, but this time of year is historically slow for this sector. Also,
according to the Philadelphia Fed Index, manufacturing activity rose to 7.3 from
the 6.8 reading that posted in December. DJIA, Nasdaq, S&P 500 Index Close
Review: The Dow Jones finished the last session higher by .36 percent at
12,623.98. The Nasdaq finished the last session green by .67 percent at 2788.33.
The S&P 500 closed out the last session green by .49 percent at 1,314.50. Frank
