Wednesday’s Stocks to Watch: Weatherford, Costco

Here are a few stocks to keep on your radar Wednesday: Shares of Weatherford
International (NYSE: WFT ) were off 14.5% in early Wednesday trading after the
company said it filed to delay its 10-K after finding nearly $500 million in
tax-accounting errors from 2007-2010. Costco (NASDAQ: COST ) were off
0.7% despite the company beating Wall Streets fiscal second-quarter revenue
estimates. The warehouse retailer said February same-store sales rose 7%,
analysts had expected a 6.7% gain. Central European Distribution (NASDAQ: CEDC
) fell another 3.4% on Wednesday after shares had hit a 52-weekl low on
Tuesday following a disappointing fourth-quarter profit report that included a
drop of 57% in revenue. Shares of Verifone (NYSE: PAY ) rose more than 8% after
the company beat analysts first-quarter profit and revenue expectations. The
company also said second-quarter and full-year results would come in above the
Streets current estimates. Staples (NASDAQ: SPLS ) was off 0.2% after the
office retailer missed Wall Streets fourth-quarter profit and revenue estimates.
The company said bad weather during the fourth quarter hit revenue to the tune
of $70 million and decreased earnings by 3 cents a share.
