Wednesday’s Stocks to Watch: Weatherford, Costco

Here are a few stocks to keep on your radar Wednesday: Shares of Weatherford International (NYSE: WFT ) were off 14.5% in early Wednesday trading after the company said it filed to delay its 10-K after finding nearly $500 million in tax-accounting errors from 2007-2010. Costco (NASDAQ: COST ) were off 0.7% despite the company beating Wall Street’s fiscal second-quarter revenue estimates. The warehouse retailer said February same-store sales rose 7%, analysts had expected a 6.7% gain. Central European Distribution (NASDAQ: CEDC ) fell another 3.4% on Wednesday after shares had hit a 52-weekl low on Tuesday following a disappointing fourth-quarter profit report that included a drop of 57% in revenue. Shares of Verifone (NYSE: PAY ) rose more than 8% after the company beat analysts’ first-quarter profit and revenue expectations. The company also said second-quarter and full-year results would come in above the Street’s current estimates. Staples (NASDAQ: SPLS ) was off 0.2% after the office retailer missed Wall Street’s fourth-quarter profit and revenue estimates. The company said bad weather during the fourth quarter hit revenue to the tune of $70 million and decreased earnings by 3 cents a share.
