Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is stepping up expansion into European Union countries with an enlarged network of distribution centers and plans to enter new markets. Seattle-based Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has been pushing in recent months to grow outside of North America, which accounted for 45% of sales of $7.5 billion during the most recent quarter for the world’s biggest online retailer. Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is now adding to the staff at its European headquarters in Luxembourg, recruiting logistics and shipping experts to oversee further expansion and improve the efficiency of its growing fulfillment network. Wednesday 5 January Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has offered a $50 bonus with Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Bundle. Retailer Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) Inc. has began offering a $50 bonus with the purchase of Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 250GB Kinect Bundle in a new hardware promotion. This week, customers who purchase the Xbox 360 250GB Kinect bundle will receive a $50 Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) credit towards the future purchase of a product shipped and sold by Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN). This week, Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) concurrently discounted select Kinect for Xbox 360 titles to under $36, including Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Zumba Fitness, Fighters Uncaged, and MotionSports. Thursday 6 January Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has released Kindle for Windows Phone 7. Seattle-based Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has introduced its Kindle application for the Windows 7 platform. According to Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN), the new application can be downloaded for free from the Windows Phone Marketplace. The application supports the usual features of Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN)’s Kindle apps, and also adds new features such as personalized recommendations for books on the home screen, and ability to send recommendations to friends via the application. Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) now supports iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, PC, Mac, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7 and Android devices with its Kindle app, in addition to support of various Kindle models themselves. Friday 7 January Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services has reduced premium support fees by 50%. Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services LLC (AWS) has announced that it has lowered usage pricing on existing Premium Support offerings by 50% and added two new support plans to meet the needs of developers and businesses of all sizes and technical ability. Brent Jaye, the Director of Developer Support at Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) Web Services said that, "We’re committed to providing our customers access to world class technical support, and we’ve expanded our offerings to give customers of all sizes a support plan that meets their needs. AWS remains committed to offering developers the building blocks to succeed without unnecessary bundling or long term commitments." We’ll be keeping a close eye on the Amazon.com stock level for changes over the next few weeks.
