company said it earned $303 million, or 48 cents a share on revenue of $3.65
billion in its third quarter. Gap, which also owns Banana Republic and Old
Navy, reiterated its 2010 profit target. Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSK) slid 4.20%
to $34.73 on over 4.23 million shares after the company said it earned $75
million or $0.32 a share on revenue of $477 million in its third quarter,
compared to a year ago quarter's profit of $61.3 million or $0.26 a share on
revenue of $417 million. Analysts were estimating 32 cents a share on revenue of
$471.10 million. For the fourth quarter, the company projects to earn 30-33
cents a share on revenue of $500 million to $520 million, missed analysts'
estimates of $0.34 per share on revenues of $501.75 million for the period.
Hibbett Sports, Inc. (NASDAQ:HIBB) climbed 13% to $31.82 and made a new 52-week
high of $31.93 after the forecast a strong fourth quarter as robust demand for
sporting goods and apparel spurs sales ahead of the holiday season. The sporting
goods store chain reported third- quarter adjusted earnings of 44 cents a share
excluding some items, beating the average analyst estimate by 6 cents. Hibbett
Sports, Inc. operates sporting goods stores in small to mid-sized markets, in
