A Boeing 747-400 aircraft operated by British Airways plc (LON:BAY), operating as Flight BA084 has experienced a potential engine problem when it reached airspace over Jasper National Park airspace. British Airways spokesman John Lampl said, "The problem was an engine surge, similar to a car backfiring, and that it’s a rare occurrence that doesn’t pose a danger to the aircraft." Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) has urged small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) to develop low carbon products. The UK’s largest banking group has also promised to step up loans for helping small green businesses. The vow has come ahead of a major conference on climate change sponsoring by them in London. Once source said that speculation has been rife that permission to drill at this particular site in the Libyan desert was linked to the release of convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdel Baset Al Megrahi — claims that top Libyan oil official Shokri Ghanem, chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corp., has categorically denied. BP plc (LON:BP) will invest more than $1 billion in two projects in the region, including an offshore rig, over the next seven years.
