Futures for todays Dow Jones posted in the red prior to opening bell this
morning. Stock futures for todays Nasdaq and S&P 500 were red at this point as
well. Stocks were set for the lower open today. Todays DJIA , and other indices,
are feeling the negative affects of the global indicators that struggled today.
Primary indicators in Asia closed lower today and European markets were broadly
lower as well. The CAC 40 closed the day lower by 2.36 percent. The DAX in
Germany finished red by 3.36 percent. The FTSE in the U.K. closed the day red by
1.83 percent. The positive knee jerk market reaction relevant to the fiscal
compact announcement to stabilize the eurozone economy, made by a contingent of
European leaders last Friday, has faded. The debt saga is far from over in the
eurozone and investors, as well as primary stock indicators, feel the weight of
the challenges ahead. As the opening trading session reached the mid-day mark in
the U.S. today, the primary indices were red across the board. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average was negative by 1.89 percent at 11,953.58. The Nasdaq was
negative by 1.99 percent at 2,594.09. The S&P 500 was negative at this point by
2.12 percent at 1,228.77. Frank Matto
