A Shop n Save Store has made headlines for helping one of its customers hit it big on the Pa. lottery. The news comes at just the right time for the owner of the winning Treasure Hunt Jackpot ticket. Unemployment in Pennsylvania remains at above average levels and residents are monitoring their finances closely. The ticket, which was sold at a Shop n Save in the Latrobe 30 Plaza, was one of three winning tickets that were sold. The estimated jackpot for the tickets was over $220,000. The winners matched all five numbers drawn and will receive just over $73,000 dollars each less the 25 percent federal withholding tax. The news of the winning ticket, which was played in March of 2011, is helping the local Shop n Save store to gain additional notoriety and exposure. Store management hopes that this will help to expand its customer base. Stores are doing their very best to stretch dollars as the local economy, along with the national economy, moves out of the recent recession. Other recent attempts to increase exposure include one other Pa. based Shop n Save partnering with a local radio station to award listeners with a year’s supply of groceries. Stores are creative in their attempts to publicize in hopes of reaching more potential customers.
