Snoop Dogg X Adidas shoes: tha details

On Sunday, I was in such a hurry to get the information about the Hollywood-inspired 2011 NBA All-Star uniforms posted before the game started, I didn't have a chance to include many details about the Snoop Dogg collaboration with Adidas.

I also didn't get a chance to mention that the centerpiece of the advertising campaign for Nike's new Zoom Kobe VI — a six-minute short film starring Kobe Bryant (and featuring Kanye West as a villain Rage_snoop5 called The Boss) was posted on the Web Sunday. (Thankfully, my compatriot Nathan Olivarez-Giles provided all the details — as well as a video embed — over at the Los Angeles Times' Laker Blog.)

But back to the Adidas-Snoop Dogg joint effort, which consists of two shoe styles. One is a limited-edition version of the Adidas Adipure in regal purple patent leather with gold accents and three silver stripes — with one of the stripes bearing Snoop's signature. In addition, the area near the heel of the shoe is decorated with a cartoonish mad eyes logo (the same one that appears on the cover of the rapper's 1993 multi-platinum debut album “Doggystyle”) Full details on the $100 shoe can be found at Adidas' e-commerce site.

Rage_snoop4 The second shoe, not suprisingly, also references the color scheme of the hometown team; it's an Adidas Originals Freemont Mid silhouette in black leather with pops of purple and gold suede as well as the aforementioned mad eyes logo on the tongue of each shoe. Released earlier this month, they retail exlusively through Shiekh Shoes for $90. (As of this post they're still in stock online and in bricks-and-mortar stores including the Beverly Center and downtown Los Angeles shops locally.)

We can't think of a better way for Snoop Dogg fans to cool their heels while they wait for his next album “Doggumentary” to drop on March 29.
