Oceanic Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) Cable has partnered with Chevron Energy Solutions and Tioga Energy to build a solar canopy and photovoltaic system capable of producing 856 kilowatts of electricity. The project is slated to be finished in the first quarter of 2011. Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) has enabled expansion for the Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI), the global leader in delivering products, services and solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings, worked with Children's to build, manage and maintain a new central energy plant adjacent to the facility. The strategy will help Children’s save an estimated 10 to 12 percent in projected life cycle cost, preserve capital, and improve predictability of utility expenses. It will also play a role in the hospital’s efforts to become the first hospital in Alabama to attain LEED certification. Richard Smith, the director of energy solutions healthcare for Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI) said that, “In many industries, it’s common for a third party to provide cooling and heating utility services. We worked with the hospital’s administrators to develop a plan that would reduce their initial capital investment while increasing long term operational efficiencies.” Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ) IRD has signed major desktop contract with Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ). Inland Revenue has signed a seven-year contract with Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) for desktop upgrade and support. The department is currently using a mixture of Windows and Novell technologies. An Inland Revenue spokesman said that the desktop upgrade project is centered on a refresh of the desktop and infrastructure environments to ensure they remain current and are supported while improving performance and service availability. The spokesman said the price of the contract is confidential.
