Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) EMEA has acquired Arete Sistemas and its solutions division Arkenova Sistemas. Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) EMEA has further bolstered its VAD credentials with the acquisition of Areté Sistemas and its specialized solutions unit Arkenova Sistemas in Spain. The distribution giant's expansion into new business areas shows no signs of slowing down as we approach the end of 2010. Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) EMEA claims that the deal will further strengthen its capabilities in server and storage, giving the company additional competitive advantage as well as market scale and expertise. Alain Maquet, president at Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM) EMEA said that, “This latest acquisition is our fourth in 12 months, and signals another step forward in our plan to build a strong value business across Europe. Areté and Arkenova bring strong brands and proven leadership in the Spanish market. Their team of 27 skilled professionals has well established customer and vendor relationships, and we are very pleased to be welcoming them to the Ingram Micro team.” Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) Cable has supported the Volunteers of America campaign "Toys for the Holidays" with a donation of 650 new children's toys. Hundreds of Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) Cable's East Region/NYC area employees participated in the company's annual holiday event on December 17 that benefited Volunteers of America's "Toys for the Holidays" campaign. More than 650 new toys were donated by Time Warner (NYSE:TWX) Cable employees for less fortunate kids in the community, all distributed through Volunteers of America to kids in local homeless and domestic violence shelters, pre-kindergarten schools for kids with developmental delays and group homes for at-risk youth. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has dropped smaller online brokers to better control its revenues. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) said that it was cutting ties with several small online ticket sellers to take more control of revenues. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) said that it would not honor future ticket sales handled through CheapOAir.com, OneTravel.com, and BookIt.com, although it would honor any tickets sold through December 17. Glen Hauenstein, the executive vice president of network planning, revenue management and marketing at Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) said that, "different distribution systems had different values. Some were of enormous value, others are of less value. But the most valuable of all, was a direct line to Delta.
