Those choosing to purchase green power in an amount exceeding 100% of their U.S. organization-wide electricity use are listed as green companies, the EPA list states. Walt Disney Co. The EPA’s ENERGY STAR Leaders program recognizes organizations that have improved the energy efficiency of their portfolios by 10 percent or more. MetLife’s energy management policy, as well as other sustainability initiatives, has enabled the company to reduce its energy consumption by more than 16% since 2006.
