Early Market News: BAE Systems plc (LON:BA), Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT), BP plc (LON:BP)

Here is another batch of stock briefings which may affect stock trading as the markets continue today. The following companies should see some movement: BAE Systems plc (LON:BA), Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT), BP plc (LON:BP). Here is a more detailed look at the news that will affect each company when trading continues. BAE Systems plc (LON:BA) BAE Systems plc (LON:BA) and Spartan Motors Inc will be working on the manufacture of AUVs. Defense contractor BAE Systems plc (LON:BA) has ordered Spartan Motors to manufacture about 32 armored Utility Vehicles for Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) programs. Additionally, more enhanced suspension for MRAP vehicles, previously produced by BAE Systems plc (LON:BA) will be provided by Spartan Motors. MRAP vehicles developed by Spartan Motors, Inc. are meant to be used by U.S forces in Afghanistan. Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT) A huge tax bill dispute has been lost by Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT). The tobacco giants had filed an appeal in the Federal Court in a dispute regarding a tax bill issue of $89 million. In the ruling, three judges unanimously said that the company had purposefully engaged in a scheme to avoid tax rather than to pursue a genuine commercial strategy. The court has found that Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT) has violated part IVA of the Income Tax Assessment Act. BP plc (LON:BP) A North Sea natural gas field will be closed by BP plc (LON:BP). BP plc (LON:BP) jointly owns the field with Iran, confirming a warning last month that the new European sanctions could interrupt the operation. According to BP plc (LON:BP), the Rhum field produces an equivalent of 15,000 barrels of oil a day and accounts for just 5% of BP’s U.K. North Sea oil and gas production. A spokesman of BP plc (LON:BP) said that “preparations are under way for the shut down of the Rhum field, it would take several days to suspend the operations. We are still seeking clarification from the U.K. government on how the sanctions apply to the field." There will probably be more movement when trading continues for BAE Systems plc (LON:BA), Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LON:IMT) and BP plc (LON:BP).
