Top NYSE Pre-Market Gainers (AEE, Dominion Resources, PGN)

Ameren Corporation (NYSE:AEE) added 1.89% to $29.14 in pre market trading hours. The company on Friday reported a third-quarter loss of $167 million, or 70 cents a share, from net income of $227 million, or $1.04 a share, in the year-ago period. Wall Street analysts expected earnings of $1.25 a share, on revenue of $2.1 billion, according to a survey by FactSet Research. The company increased its 2010 core earnings outlook to a range of $2.60 to $2.80 a share, from its earlier view of $2.50 to $2.80 a share. The stock went up more than 1% year-to-date. Dominion Resources, Inc. (NYSE:D) went up 0.11% to $44 in pre market trading hours. The company said Friday its third-quarter earnings dropped to $575 million, or 98 cents a share, from $594 million, or $1 a share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted income rose to $1.03 a share, from 99 cents a share. Revenue rose to $3.95 billion from $3.63 billion. Wall Street analysts expected earnings of $1.05 a share, on revenue of $3.93 billion, according to a survey by FactSet Research. The 52-week range of the stock is $34-$45.12. Shares of Progress Energy, Inc. (NYSE:PGN) gained 0.47% to $44.95 during the pre market. The company said Friday its third-quarter net income rose to $361 million, or $1.23 a share, from $247 million, or 88 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue rose to $2.96 billion, from $2.82 billion. Wall Street analysts expected earnings of 62 cents a share and revenue of $3.1 billion, according to a survey by FactSet Research. The stock went up more than 8% year-to-date.
